Round three of the Ligier European Series began on Friday 4 June at the Paul Ricard circuit under sunny skies in the South of France. Despite a few spins, the free practice session went off without a hitch. The #23 HP Racing by Monza Garage Ligier JS P4 and the #24 Orhès Racing Ligier JS2 R set the pace in their respective categories.
As was the case in the first two rounds of the season, the #23 HP Racing by Monza Garage Ligier JS P4 driven by Jacopo Faccioni and Alessandro Cicogagni clocked the best time in free practice in 2:03.866s. It was more than a second faster than the #33 Les Deux Arbres entry with Jacques Nicolet at the controls.
In the GT category, the #24 Orhès Racing Ligier JS2 R of Mathieu Martins and Olivier Pernaut set the fastest time in the category with a lap of 2:06.997s. Its closest rival, the #53 M Racing car with Natan Bihel was nearly two seconds slower. The #69 M Racing car with Laurent Millara on board was third quickest before it was overtaken in the final moments of the session by the #4 Cool Racing entry driven by the on-form Cédric Oltramare.
The Ligier European Series will be back in action at Circuit Paul Ricard this afternoon at 3:20 pm then at 3:45 pm for the two qualifying sessions.
