MRacing is back for a third season with a Ligier JS P4 and a Ligier JS2 R.

News – March 24, 2022

Yvan Muller’s MRacing, which won the 2021 Ligier JS2 R category championship with Natan Bihel, returns to the Ligier European Series for the third consecutive year. This season the team run by the four-time World Champion will enter a Ligier JS P4 for Natan Bihel. And a Ligier JS2 R for Laurent Millara, who was the 2021 Gentleman of the Year and finished third in the JS2 R championship.

MRacing has been a stalwart in the Ligier European Series since its launch in 2020 with its regular drivers, Natan Bihel and Laurent Millara, who are preparing for the upcoming season.

“We are delighted to return for our third season in the Ligier European Series and the renewed confidence of our drivers Natan Bihel and Laurent Millara,” explains MRacing Team Owner Yvan Muller. “During the first two seasons, we demonstrated that we can assist young drivers and gentlemen drivers right up to winning the championship. This is our strength, and this year, we will compete in both the GT and sport-prototype categories. This allows us to compete in the different levels of endurance racing created by Ligier and to get back into sport-prototype competition. We already have a Ligier JS P320 and are ready to make our return to the LMP3 category”.

2020 Runner-up then 2021 Champion in the JS2 R category, Natan Bihel is taking on a new challenge in his third season in the European championship. Natan is switching to the Ligier JS P4 category, but he will keep the same car number, #53.

“My objective is clear: to win the Ligier JS P4 category title and to move up to the LMP3 in 2023 thanks to the prize money provided by the championship [€150,000 in prize money for the winner(s) of the Ligier JS P4 category]. I had the chance to race in LMP3 in the Michelin Le Mans Cup and European Le Mans Series 3-4 years ago. The Ligier JS P4 category in the Ligier European Series is an intermediate step for me. This will allow me to get back on track and strengthen my fundamentals to move on to LMP3 in 2023. I am thrilled to continue my adventure with MRacing. They have been by my side since the beginning. It’s important to feel comfortable with all the team members and trust them. Even if you are a good driver, you also have to be in a good situation to win.”

Laurent Millara also returns to the series. He will be back behind the wheel of his #69 Ligier JS2 R. The 2021 Gentleman of the Year and third-place finisher in the Ligier JS2 R category is ready for a third campaign in the GT category. “Motor racing is all about enthusiasts,” says Laurent Millara. “And between the involvement of the Nicolet family for the Ligier brand and the commitment of the Muller family to its drivers, it would be hard for me to find anything better. I can’t wait to start this new season with them.”

MRacing is expected to enter a third Ligier JS2 R for the round on the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit.
