Le Castellet Heat, Free Practice 2: Team Virage and LR Motorsport on top

The second 40-minute free practice session of the Castellet Heat was held on Friday, 2 May, in the early afternoon, allowing teams to fine-tune their set-ups ahead of qualifying, which starts at 3.40 pm.

Team Virage’s #1 car, driven by Dario Cabanelas, led the JS P4 category with a lap time of 2m09.903s. Vincent Bouteiller was second quickest in the #19 Trajectus Motorsport JS P4 at 2m10.352s. Ruben Hage was third in the #12 ASM Motorsport JS P4 with a lap clocked in 2m10.403s.

Kristian Brookes in the #33 JS P4 from 360 Competition was best in the PRO-AM class with a lap of 2m11.762s, while David Caussanel, behind the wheel of the #16 from Pegasus Racing, again headed the AM class in 2m12.410s.

In the JS2 R category, the #7 of LR Motorsport, driven by Simone Riccitelli, topped the timesheets with a best time of 2m16.078s, followed by Lukas Papin in the #18 VSF Sports entry, who posted a time of 2m16.663s. The winner in race two of the Barcelona Heat, August Therbo, finished third in 2m17.488s in the #57 23Events Racing JS2 R.

Adrien Paviot, in the #84 Trajectus Motorsport JS2R, was the fastest in the PRO-AM class with a time of 2m18.212s. In the #41 VSF Sports entry, Tristan Clay was best among the AM competitors in 2m19.412s.

Attention now turns towards the two 15-minute qualifying sessions at 3:40 and 4 pm, which will determine the starting grids for the two Castellet Heat races.
