As is tradition, the Ligier European Series will hold its 2026 season finale at Portimão’s Autódromo Internacional do Algarve on 8 and 9 October. Twenty-four entries — sixteen Ligier JS P4s and eight Ligier JS2 Rs — will contest the final two races of the season. While VSF Sports has already secured the Ligier JS2 R title, the Ligier JS P4 crown remains up for grabs, with Team Virage, ANS Motorsport and M Racing set to battle it out. The remaining JS2 R championship podium places and the category’s PRO-AM title also promise some closely fought contests.
Ligier JS P4: Three teams, one title
Sixteen Ligier JS P4s will take to the track at Portimão, with one final challenge for the top three teams: securing the 2026 title. With two races remaining, just six points separate the top two!
Leading the standings on 149 points, Alex Gardner and Simon Schranz in Team Virage’s #14 head into the finale with a slender advantage. With three victories already this season, they will be chasing further wins to stay at the top of the championship until the very end.

But Ethan Pharamond and Mika Abrahams are ready to pounce. On 143 points, the drivers of ANS Motorsport’s #6 remain within striking distance, thanks in particular to their performances at Le Castellet, Le Mans and Silverstone. At Portimão, every position could tip the balance in their favour.
The finale will also see the return of ASM Motorsport’s #44 and Les Deux Arbres’ #50 Ligier JS P4s, both absent from Silverstone. Pascal Tichit will make his series debut in the #50 alongside Jérémy Loisel.
The PRO-AM and AM titles have already been secured. Marius Kristiansen and Dominique Bastien in Bretton Racing’s #69 are out of reach in PRO-AM on 150 points. In AM, Les Deux Arbres’ #50 is also beyond reach with 100 points.

Ligier JS2 R: Title secured, podium places still to play for
With eight cars entered, there is still plenty at stake in the Ligier JS2 R category for the finale. Having clinched the title at the Silverstone Heat, Daniel Dallakyan and Antonin Bernard arrive at Portimão with 180 points and six victories in VSF Sports’ #41. With the championship secured, they will be keen to round off their season with further wins.

Behind them, the battle for the remaining two championship podium places looks particularly close: just 19 points cover seven crews.
Maxime Aparicio and Anthony Ghibaudo currently hold second place on 94 points in VSF Sports’ #18. But their advantage is slim: Marcus Terkildsen in 23Events Racing’s #88 and Noah Rosser in LR Motorsport’s #3 are tied on 91 points, just three behind the pair.
Simone Bianco follows on 88 points in LR Motorsport’s #81, ahead of Lawrence Herbots in M Racing’s #69 on 84 points. Both Trajectus Motorsport cars also remain in contention for a podium finish: the father-and-son Tabery pairing have 83 points in the #84, while Charles Lambert has 75 points in the #83. With such narrow margins, the two Portimão races could produce a major reshuffle in the standings.
The PRO-AM title fight will pit Trajectus Motorsport’s #84 against VSF Sports’ #18. The Tabery duo lead on 183 points, but Maxime Aparicio and Anthony Ghibaudo are just fifteen points behind. The latter will therefore be fighting on two fronts at Portimão: defending second place in the overall standings while chasing the PRO-AM crown.
