Barcelona Heat, Free Practice 2: Trajectus Motorsport and 23Events Racing remain at the front.

Dominated by Vincent Bouteiller in the #19 Ligier JS P4 and Marcus Terkildsen in the #88 JS2 R, the second free practice session was interrupted for nearly fifteen minutes following an off-track incident. Teams and drivers now turn their focus to qualifying, scheduled to begin at 4:50 pm local time.

The second free practice session at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya got underway on a track heated to 42°C. The session was red-flagged after 12 minutes following an off by Henrique Oliveira in the #69 Ligier JS P4 of Czech team Bretton Racing. Less than fifteen minutes of running remained when the session resumed under green flag conditions.

Before the interruption, Vincent Bouteiller completed his third lap in 1:46.593 at the wheel of the #19 Ligier JS P4 for Trajectus Motorsport, which had already set the benchmark time in the morning session in the hands of Tomas Pompidou. This time remained unbeaten after the restart. In the closing moments, Marius Kristiansen came close, just 0.071 seconds shy (1:46.664) in the #99 Team Virage entry. The #33 car of Spanish team Petrogold, driven by Jan Duran Olive, secured the third-fastest time (1:47.153).

In the PRO-AM classification, Denmark’s August Therbo set the fastest time in 1:47.725 (the seventh-fastest overall among the Ligier JS P4s) in the #57 M Racing car he shares with Cindy Gudet. In AM, Jérémy Loisel once again set the reference time in the #50 Les Deux Arbres entry with a 1:54.881.

In the JS2 R category, Marcus Terkildsen, who had broken the circuit record earlier in the day, quickly moved to the top of the standings in the second session. He set a 1:52.727 on his fifth lap just before the red flag. After the restart, Simone Bianco took the lead in the #81 LR Motorsport Ligier JS2 R (1:52.666), but the Danish driver Terkildsen immediately responded with a 1:52.358. Towards the end of the session, Daniel Dallakyan claimed the second-fastest time in 1:52.618. The top three Ligier JS2 R entries were covered by just three tenths of a second.

As in the morning, the #18 VSF Sports Ligier JS2 R topped the PRO-AM classification thanks to Maxime Aparicio (1:53.175). In AM, the #94 Pegasus Racing entry set the benchmark with a 1:54.450 lap from David Caussanel.

The Ligier JS P4 and JS2 R cars will return to the track at 16:50 for the two 15-minute qualifying sessions, which will determine the starting grids for Saturday’s Race 1 and Race 2.
