Ligier European Series: The competitors are ready for their Silverstone debut.

Round 5 of the 2025 Ligier European Series takes place at the renowned Silverstone circuit, marking a first for the series. The 23-car field for this round will discover this landmark motorsport venue on 12 and 13 September, famous for its sequence of fast corners, Maggots, Becketts and Chapel. Which team will best understand this new track and take the lead in the championship heading into the season finale? We’ll know the answer in a few days.

Ligier JS P4: The title race intensifies.

The fiercely competitive JS P4 category has produced thrilling on-track battles all season long, with the championship lead hotly contested. Just four points separate the top two teams. The #22 Loire Valley Racing Ligier JS P4, operated by Trajectus Motorsport and driven by Romain Boeckler, leads the championship with 108 points, with victories at Barcelona, Le Castellet, Le Mans and Spa. The French team, which took the lead after the Spa round, is closely followed by the #6 ANS Motorsport Ligier JS P4, driven by Iko Segret and Maxwell Dodds. The Franco-British duo, with 104 points so far, managed to stay near the top of the classification despite a difficult Spa round.

The #27 Team Virage Ligier JS P4, driven by Vic Stevens and Jude Peters, is third on 81 points thanks to its first victory in Race 2 of the Spa Heat.

Christopher Preen and Kristian Brookes, in the #33 of 360 Competition, lead the PRO-AM classification with 125 points, and are ready to battle in their home round. The #16 Pegasus Racing Ligier JS P4, driven by David Caussanel and Yuki Tanaka, leads the AM class standings with 161 points.

However, watch out for the return of Frenchman Natan Bihel, JS2 R champion in 2021 and JS P4 runner-up in 2022. He will share the cockpit of the #60 Iron Lynx by MRacing Ligier JS P4 with Gregorio Bertocco.

The battles will be intense in the two Silverstone Heat races, as competitors aim to arrive at Portimão, the season finale, in the championship lead.

Ligier JS2 R: A duel at the top between 23Events Racing and LR Motorsport

A single point separated the two leading teams before the Spa Heat. Thanks to his victory in Race 2 of the Belgian round and his consistency throughout the season, August Therbo, driving the #57 23Events Racing Ligier JS2 R, took the lead in the championship with 129 points. The team now holds a six-point advantage over the #7 LR Motorsport Ligier JS2 R, driven by Simone Riccitelli, who has claimed three victories this season, including both Le Castellet races and Le Mans.

The #18 VSF Sports Ligier JS2 R, driven by Lukas Papin, is third in the classification with 102 points. So, everything is still up for grabs for the French team, which has scored wins at Barcelona and Spa last month. At Silverstone, the French driver will again be joined by Steven Palette.

In the PRO-AM class, the #94 Pegasus Racing Ligier JS2 R (Jordan and Alain Meyer) leads with 154 points. Florian Teillais and Tristan Clay, driving the #41 VSF Sports Ligier JS2 R, lead the AM class standings with 143 points.

Henrique Cruz will be joined by Spanish karting racer Jose Antonio Gomez Gutierrez, in the #17 Petrogold Ligier JS2 R, who is making his championship debut.
