
For the second consecutive year, the Ligier European Series competitors took to the famous British circuit. On Friday 11 September, the 23 Silverstone Heat entrants headed out for the opening free practice session under clear blue skies. The session was interrupted by a red flag after the #44 ASM Motorsport Ligier JS P4 stopped on track.
In the JS P4 category, Simone Riccitelli topped the times in the #7 LR Motorsport Ligier JS P4 with a 2:04.299 lap. He was followed by August Therbo in the #57 M Racing Ligier JS P4, who posted a 2:04.889. Championship leader Team Virage was third with the #14, Simon Schranz setting a 2:05.073.
In PRO-AM, the #69 Bretton Racing Ligier JS P4 led the classification thanks to a 2:05.784 lap from Marius Kristiansen, while Emil Hellberg was quickest in AM with a 2:07.285 in the #48 Allay Racing entry.
The JS2 R category was led by the #18 VSF Sports Ligier JS2 R, with Anthony Ghibaudo setting the fastest lap in 2:11.979 and also topping the PRO-AM classification. Antonin Bernard was second in the #41 VSF Sports car with a 2:12.352, while Marcus Terkildsen placed the #88 23Events Racing entry third with a 2:12.792.

The second 40-minute free practice session will take place this afternoon from 13:55 local time, followed by two 15-minute qualifying sessions at 16:55 and 17:15 local time.
