Season five of the Ligier European Series is underway! The 18 cars participating in the first Heat were on track for a 40-minute free practice session under sunny skies at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.
Reigning JS P4 champions, Team Virage dominated the category. The Polish team’s #1 Ligier JS P4, driven by Theo Micouris and Haydn Chance, topped the timing screens with a best lap of 1:42.879s. The team’s second car, the #32 of Jeronimo Berrio and Pedro Moreno, finished third. The #6 ANS Motorsport entry, driven by 17-year Iko Segret, was second best at 1:44.065s.
Pegasus Racing’s #16 finished on top of the AM category with a lap of 1:52.945s by Yuki Tanaka.
In the JS2 R category, ANS Motorsport (#31) finished the session at the top of the overall classification and the AM category with a lap of 1:51.641s set by Clément Moreno, followed by Cindy Grudet in the #53 M Racing JS2 R. Newcomers Iron Lynx by LRMotorsport were third with Gregorio Bertocco and Matteo Pianezzola in the #60 JS2 R. Jacques Nicolet and Sita Vanmeert, at the wheel of the Les Deux Arbres #86 JS2 R finished first of the PRO-AM class with a lap in 1:54.344.
The second 40-minute free practice session takes place this afternoon from 1:50 pm. The two 15-minute qualifying sessions will follow at 5 and 5.20 pm.
