The second free practice session of the day got underway on a dry track for the Spa Heat competitors. Following a severe accident during European Le Mans Series practice earlier in the morning, the session was delayed by 25 minutes to allow for repairs trackside.
JS P4 championship leader Team Virage secured the top two positions in free practice 2. With a lap of 2m22.393s, Jeronimo Berrio led the way in the #66 JS P4, followed by Haydn Chance in the #1 with a time of 2:m22.945s. Romain Favre was third in the #7 Inter Europol Competition JS P4.
In the AM category, Jeremy Ferguson was fastest in the P4 Racing’s #27 in the team’s second Ligier European Series appearance after the Le Mans Heat with a lap of 2m29.754s. The #16 (Pegasus Racing) of the Japanese duo of Ryuichirou Ohtsuka and Yuki Tanaka was second fastest, followed by Jacques Nicolet in the #58 Les Deux Arbres JS P4.
In the JS2 R category, Tomas Granzella improved his morning time in the M Racing’s #53 to top the timesheets with a lap of 2m31.992s. Marta Garcia, making her Ligier European Series debut, finished second in the #85 of Iron Dames by M Racing with a time of 2m32.668s. Clément Moreno was third and first in the AM class in the #31 ANS Motorsport JS2 R.
In the PRO-AM class, the #29 from Pegasus Racing, driven by David Caussanel and Julien Schell, was first (2m33.338s).
The Spa Heat competitors are now ready for the two 15-minute qualifying sessions this afternoon at 4 and 4:20 pm.
