Barcelona Heat, Free Practice 2: Team Virage and LR Motorsport top the timesheets at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.

The 26 competitors in the Barcelona Heat contested the second free practice session this afternoon, enabling them to fine-tune their set-ups ahead of qualifying, which begins at 4:50 pm.

At the conclusion of the 40-minute session, Jude Peters, behind the wheel of the JS P4 #27 of defending champions Team Virage, was the fastest in the field with a lap of 1m45.741s. He finished ahead of Romain Boeckler, winner of the 2024 Junior classification of the Ligier JS Cup France, who makes his debut in the Ligier European Series and set a best lap of 1m46.679s in the #22 of Loire Valley Racing. Lastly, consistency is the order of the day for the Al Qubaisi sisters, who again finish third, thanks to a lap of 1m46.892s set by Hamda in the Team Virage #88.

In the PRO-AM category, Kristian Brookes in the #33 JS P4 led the way with a time of 1m47.466s. Jacques Nicolet, a regular in the Ligier European Series, was first in the AM class in the #58 Ligier JS P4 from HP Racing by MRacing in 1m52.084s.

In the JS2 R category, like this morning, Simone Riccitelli, at the controls of the #7 of LR Motorsport, was quickest, with a time of 1:51.887s. Lukas Papin came second-best in the session with a lap completed in 1m51.945s with the VSF Sports’ #18 JS2 R. The #57 JS2 R of 23Events Racing, driven by August Therbo, was third with a time of 1m52.470s.

The father-son duo, Alain and Jordan Meyer, in the #94 form Pegasus Racing, led the PRO-AM category with a time of 1m55.431s. Tristan Clay and Florian Teillais, as in free practice 1, were the tandem to beat in the AM class, with a lap of 1m54.485s.

The teams and drivers are ready, and now it’s time for the two 15-minute qualifying sessions, at 4:50 and 5:10 pm, to set the starting grids for races 1 and 2 of the Barcelona Heat.
