Le Castellet Heat, Free Practice 2: Trajectus Motorsport and 23Events Racing take control.

On a Circuit Paul Ricard finally warmed up by the southern French sunshine, the #19 Trajectus Motorsport Ligier JS P4 and the #88 23Events Racing Ligier JS2 R further improved on the Free Practice benchmarks and underlined their ambitions ahead of qualifying.

Seventh fastest in the morning session, the #19 Trajectus Motorsport Ligier JS P4 topped this second session, which was interrupted by a three-minute red flag following the stoppage of the #1 Team Virage on the Mistral straight. At the wheel, Vincent Bouteiller lowered the Free Practice lap record twice, setting a new reference time of 2:08.584.

Behind him, the #7 LR Motorsport Ligier JS P4 driven by Simone Riccitelli, the #44 ASM Motorsport in the hands of Dan Skocdopole, and the #6 ANS Motorsport with Ethan Pharamond were covered by just 0.172 seconds. In the PRO-AM classification, Marius Kristiansen posted a 2:11.847 in the #69 Bretton Racing Ligier JS P4.

In the Ligier JS2 R category, Marcus Terkildsen once again stood out in the #88 23Events Racing. The Danish driver broke the Free Practice lap record three times, setting a 2:15.718 on his eighth lap. However, Charles Lambert, in the #83 Trajectus Motorsport, was just 0.055 seconds behind, setting the stage for a closely fought qualifying session. As in Free Practice 1, the #75 M Racing Ligier JS2 R remained at the top of the PRO-AM standings thanks to Cindy Gudet (2:17.032), ahead of the #18 VSF Sports driven by Maxime Aparicio (2:17.785).

All 25 Ligier entries competing in the Le Castellet Heat took part in this second Free Practice session. The #93 Petrogold, which had not run in the morning, finished eighth.

Qualifying was scheduled to begin at 17:55.
