Portimão Heat, Free Practice 2: Team Virage and VSF Sports top the timesheets.

The second 40-minute free practice session of the Portimão Heat took place in the early afternoon of Thursday, October 16, allowing teams to fine-tune their set-ups ahead of qualifying at 3:20 pm (local time).

The session was interrupted by a Full Course Yellow following an incident involving the #1 Ligier JS P4 from Team Virage, but resumed quickly once the car was removed.

The #88 Team Virage Ligier JS P4 driven by Hamda Al Qubaisi, currently third in the championship, led the JS P4 category with a lap time of 1m47.576s. The #3 from LR Motorsport, with Pietro Ferri aboard, was second at 1m47.674s. Mathis Poulet, driving the #19 Trajectus Motorsport entry, was third best at 1m47.836s.

The #16 Pegasus Racing Ligier JS P4 was first in the AM classification with a time of 1m50.339 set by David Caussanel.

In the Ligier JS2 R category, the #18 from VSF Sports, driven by Steven Palette, was quickest with a best time of 1m52.484. August Therbo, in the #57 of 23Events Racing, was second with a lap clocked in 1m53.378s. Championship leader Simone Riccitelli was third in this session at 1m53.454s behind the wheel of the #7 LR Motorsport Ligier JS2 R.

Noé Da Cunha (Les Deux Arbres #50) led the PRO-AM category with a time of 1m53.939s, whilst Florian Teillais topped the AM class in the #41 of VSF Sports at 1m55.582s.

The two 15-minute qualifying sessions get underway at 3:20 and 3:40 pm (local time) to determine the starting grids for the two races in the 2025 season finale.
