
Season six of the Ligier European Series is underway! The 26 competitors entered for the season took to the track at Barcelona-Catalunya this morning for the first 40-minute free practice session.
2024 Rookie of the Year Iko Segret, in the #6 ANS Motorsport JS P4, dominated free-practice 1 with a best time of 1m45.406s. Vincent Bouteiller followed with a lap of 1m45.822s in the #19 Trajectus Motorsport JS P4 in their Ligier European Series debut. Amna Al Qubaisi finished third in Team Virage’s #88 Ligier JS P4 in 1m45.855s. After the 2024 season in the F1 Academy, Al Qubaisi is making her Ligier European Series debut with sister Hamda.
360 Competition’s #33 topped the PRO-AM classification with a time of 1m46.516s by Kristian Brookes, while David Caussanel, behind the wheel of the #16 from Pegasus Racing, topped the AM class.
In the JS2 R category, LR Motorsport (#7) dominated the session with a lap of 1m50.825s set by Simone Riccitelli. Danish youngster August Therbo was second in 23Events Racing’s #57, also in its Ligier European Series debut. The 2024 runners-up, Noé Da Cunha and Antoine Lepesqueux were third in the Les Deux Arbres #50 Ligier JS2 R, with a time of 1m52.054s.
VSF Sports’ #41, driven by Florian Teillais, led the AM classification, while Adrien Paviot in the #84 of Trajectus Motorsport was top of the PRO-AM class.
The second 40-minute free practice session takes place this afternoon from 1:50, followed by two 15-minute qualifying sessions at 4:50 pm and 5:10 pm.
