
Under clear skies at the Portimão circuit in southern Portugal, the 24 entries for the final Heat of the 2025 Ligier European Series took to the track for 40 minutes of free practice.
The session was interrupted ten minutes before its end by a red flag, following an incident involving the #17 Petrogold Ligier JS2 R at turn 15, and resumed with only two minutes remaining.
Ligier JS P4 category leader Romain Boeckler, in the #22 of Loire Valley Racing operated by Trajectus Motorsport, set the fastest lap in 1m47.896s. Jude Peters, in the #27 Team Virage Ligier JS P4, was next on the timing screen with a time of 1m48.092s. Trajectus Motorsport’s #19 car was third with a best lap of 1m48.246s set by Vincent Bouteiller.
In the AM category, the #16 Pegasus Racing Ligier JS P4 was the fastest with a lap of 1m52.073s set by David Caussanel.

The #7 of LR Motorsport dominated the Ligier JS2 R category. Championship leader Simone Riccitelli set the fastest lap of 1m53.299s. Steven Palette, in the VSF Sports #18 Ligier JS2 R, was second at 1m53.620s. August Therbo in 23Events Racing #57 completed the top three with a lap of 1m53.872s.

The #50 of Les Deux Arbres led the PRO-AM category with a time of 1m54.832s, set by Noé Da Cunha. Florian Teillais in the #41 from VSF Sports was fastest in the AM class at 1m56.708s.

The second 40-minute free practice session takes place this afternoon from 12:40 pm. (local time), followed by two 15-minute qualifying sessions at 3:20 and 3:40 pm
